What is bio-dart m used for?

Effective in Controlling Mosquito Larvae

Bacillus thruringiensis are the naturally occurring micro-organisms found in soil that have capacity to biologically control the mosquito nuisance. Bacillus thruringiensis var, israelensis (Bti) has been discovered from dead larvae of mosquito culex pipiens. Bio-Dart M containing Bacillus thruringiensis var, israelensis (Bti) has the potency of 1200 IU/mg. It selectively acts on mosquita larvae and non-toxic to other animals and humans.

How does BIO-DART M act?

BIO-DART M is applied (sprayed) to the water reservoirs such as ponds, stagnant and polluted water reservoirs. Once applied, the Bti spores present in the product are ingested by mosquito larvae. Once ingested, the bacteria grow and produce crystalline toxin, which paralyses the digestive tract of the mosquito larvae causing death.

What is BIO-DART M recommended for?

It is effective on Aedes larvae (vector of Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika), Anopheles larvae (vector of Malaria) and Culex larvae (vector of Filaria and Japanese Encephalitis) as well as other nuisance mosquitos.

What is the recommended dosage?

Fornightly against Aedes aegypti at dose of 05.ml/sq. m. i.e. 5 litre/hectare in small habitats like cement tank, coolers, drains, pools and pits etc, For underground tanks, containers, drums, tyres at dose 0.75 ml/sq. m. i.e. 7.5 litres/hectare should be repeated fortnightly.
